Investment Analyst and Manager, Hedge Fund recruitment
Mooring manages two hedge funds, Mooring Intrepid Opportunity Fund and Mooring Capital Fund, which invest in assets including publicly traded equities and distressed commercial real estate loans. AUM is approximately $100 million. Mooring is seeking an analyst who will work closely with management to analyze equity and other investment opportunities for Mooring Intrepid Opportunity Fund.
The Fund:
Mooring Intrepid Opportunity Fund, founded in February 2007, is a multi-strategy fund. The Fund invests by combining a disciplined top-down adherence to its managers’ macroeconomic outlook with a bottom-up analysis of individual investments.
Position Responsibilities:
- Monitor existing investment positions.
- Identify, evaluate, and present investment opportunities.
- Assist in placing trades.
- Compile economic research to share with investment team.
- Assist with investor relations.
Requirements:
- 1-4 years professional investment analysis / equity research experience.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Strong work ethic and superior analytical skills.
- Although the position is equity-focused, exposure to other asset classes (e.g., corporate bonds, commodities, derivatives) is a plus.
