Investment Analyst, Debt Investments

Our client is a market-leading funds manager offering their institutional client base a broad spectrum of investment opportunities across a range of asset classes.  They are an established business with a growing pool of funds under management, offering their employees a collegiate, collaborative working environment.  Due to an increased emphasis on debt investments, an Analyst with strong analytical skills and fixed income and/or interest rate experience is currently sought to join their Melbourne team.  

Joining a highly credentialed and experienced investments team, the Analyst will provide portfolio management and asset allocation support to the Vice Presidents of two key funds.   The Analyst will be required to keep abreast of investment maturities, overnight markets and the macro-economic environment in order to set and execute daily investment strategies.  Additionally, the Analyst will be required to manage quantitative optimisation models to assess portfolio performance in passive funds; formulating recommendations for refined trades on a periodic basis.  More broadly, the Analyst will assist in the development of risk management strategies that address FX and Interest Rate exposure for the group as a whole in addition to analysing market trends and dynamics (in Australia and Globally) and producing regular company and industry insights that highlight up-to-date economic, credit and liquidity trends and conditions.

As a developing markets professional, it is envisaged that the successful applicant will have a passion for funds management, coupled with 2-5 years of experience across markets, treasury or related sectors.  Strong analytical, conceptual and quantitative skills are required as is the ability to make effective decisions and interface with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.  With a relevant Economics, Commerce or Business degree and strong academics, it is likely you will be working towards a post-graduate qualification in finance (CFA, MAppFin).
