The Finance Valuation and Policy is an independent group within finance whose primary responsibility is to ensure the valuation of the firms risk portfolios are fairly valued. The coverage group forms the primary interface for discussing valuation issues with Front Office but retains reporting lines through the Finance Risk management chain.

The group sets independent pricing reserve methodologies and policies, in addition it is responsible for the review of approximately loaded trades, high level risk / PL analysis, approval of new products and model releases.

Clients of the group include senior management, business heads, regulators and both internal and external audit. The group also works closely with the traders, CFO’s, market risk and Middle Office to ensure a complete understanding of business issues and the accurate execution of valuation policy.

The role is based in London and the incumbent will have a strong finance background reporting to a VP manager in the Credit Exotics Hybrids and Credit Flow business. Strong Communication skills will be essential.

Main Responsibilities include but are not exclusive to:

Responsibility for valuation of the portfolio and all fair value adjustments taken, Assess appropriateness of benchmarks and methodologies used in parameter testing and reserve calculations for the trading portfolio, Production of monthly valuation pack for the business, Responsible for building and sustaining a robust control environment, Regular reviews of PL attribution by risk attributes (i.e. Greeks) to confirm on going accuracy/validity

Skills/Qualifications include:

Product Knowledge in credit derivatives and line product controlling background is preferred, analytical and quantitative skills as they relate to trading room products, clear written and oral communication in English, proficiency in Excel, knowledge of VBA and Access preferred, Minimum 2:1 degree and must be eligible to work in the UK
