JPMorgan's Futures and Options group is one of the largest financial futures and options brokers in the world. The Firm is a market leader in providing research, sales, execution and clearing service to clients on approximately 70 futures exchanges globally, offering fixed income, equity, foreign exchange and commodity related products. The Futures Options group leverages JPMorgan's global network, setting up direct exchange memberships through local offices. In line with client demand JPMorgan is constantly reviewing the list of exchanges that it offers in order to ensure that it provides clients with access to the exchanges they require. In Asia, FO provides execution and clearing services on 21 exchanges and has an operations presence in 8 locations.
The GMI Product Development team(GPD) acts as a key nexus between other FO Operations teams and the technology group on all aspects of the support, development and efficient use of GMI software to support our global business and operations objectives. The team provides input into the design and execution of developments and enhancements within the FO clearing environment to ensure that the optimal use is made of the core clearing architecture.
The GPD team is responsible for proposing recommended configurations of the GMI package to ensure the most efficient use of functionality available in the system and to facilitate integration with in-house technology solutions, as well as managing and maintaining the GMI set ups and acting as the data guardian for the system.
Key to the success of the role is the ability to team work, by maintenance of a strong partnership through regular meetings with the internal technology teams as well as with Sungard. The team will also be an active participant in the technology agenda, driving forward enhancements and providing training to other operations teams to identify more effective ways to use GMI functionality.
Finally, the GPD team actively participate in and lead Sungard post trade governance forums, disseminating relevant information across the organisation.
This individual will be responsible for the GPD agenda across Asia, working in conjunction with the other GPD regional leads. The role reports in to the FO Asia Head of Operations.
Skills
The successful candidate will have:
- proven leadership experience in building strong partnerships across the organisation
- must have extensive knowledge (8+ years minimum) of GMI and FO Operations
- 12+ years experience in IB Operations / Tech or similar roles in the Finance industry
- held strategic roles, recent leadership and delivery / management of transformational programmes
- previous experience with Futures Options required, experience of FO in Asia preferable
- proven success in a large, global operating environment, with ability to work within cross cultural teams
- strong control and process background
- Analytical approach to problem solving
- ability to multi-task and independently cross prioritise
- very strong communication skills essential
