The Role
Our Tokyo office currently has openings at both Senior Analyst and Consultant level. The incumbent(s) will work with senior consultants to provide first class advice to a range of clients on a range of services which include: strategic setting of investment objectives, strategic asset allocation, investment management structures, manager selection, performance measurement and evaluation, investment manager monitoring, custodian selection, transition advice, statements of investment policy and global research services.

- Conduct data analysis
- Prepare first drafts of client documents
- Support senior team members in the construction and delivery of presentations to clients
People
- Build strong relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams
- Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels
Clients
- Work as part of dedicated client teams providing a variety of services to designated clients
- Deal with Lead consultants in order to iteratively provide suitable solutions in a timely manner
- Liaise with members of the wider investment team and Benefits practice in order to gain the necessary data and understanding of the client’s needs
- Deliver on projects to meet or exceed client expectations
- Increase efficiency within client teams by identifying ways to improve processes
Financial
- Meet chargeable hours targets
- Contribute to sales and marketing efforts by drafting proposals and responding to RFPs
The Requirements
- Undergraduate degree along with progress towards relevant professional qualifications such as CFA, FIA or equivalent
- Insight into practical issues of investment management organizations (investment process, organizational structure and people, marketing, business management and strategy)
- Progressing knowledge of the investment process across a range of asset classes
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in Japanese
- Comfortable and successful in a team environment; able to fit seamlessly on teams of senior and more junior colleagues
- Strong working knowledge of Excel and databases
- Interest in and understanding of financial markets and institutional investing
- Enquiring and analytically minded with a logical and thorough work ethic
- Ability to grasp issues and offer innovative solutions
- Track record of delivering high quality work on time and within budget
