Investment Specialist – Equities recruitment
The role will entail working effectively with the sales teams to maximise both assets under management and asset retention across all distribution channels, by providing support at every stage of the business development process.
Amongst other duties, the successful applicant will:
- Work closely with the fund management team and marketing, preparing and updating key investment communication materials for the UK equity fund range to a high standard of quality and relevance
- Be an ambassador for the company, speaking at seminars, conducting meetings with key clients and providing investment training to clients and sales colleagues as required
- To ensure fund investment reports, marketing literature, RFP documents, press releases and presentations are informative, comprehensive, client focused, accurate and timely
- To be involved in investment discussions including attendance at investment and market-related meetings
- To identify tasks and implement solutions that will help to develop new business relationships and relationships with the sales force
- To generate product/ service/ revenue raising ideas
Required Attributes:
- Educated to degree level and IMC qualified. Other additional, relevant investment qualifications desirable
- Experience in similar fund management environment – portfolio management, analysis (fund or stock) or product roles
- Ability to meet deadlines and ensure timeliness of delivery
- Exceptional organisational skills – be able to manage different deadlines and priorities from different sources
- Proactive nature – to be able to anticipate future requirements, and also determine information which may be of interest to distribution channels
- Able to absorb the philosophy and process of the funds and communicate it internally and externally
- Strong written skills, numeracy and creativity
- Strong communication skills (written and otherwise) – to be able to communicate and adapt the investment messages to a range of audiences
- Strong interpersonal skills – to be able to build good relationships with fund managers, and the key contacts in the distribution channels and to integrate quickly with the highly professional team which is already in place
- A thorough knowledge of key competition and the competitive environment
- Knowledge of investment markets and relevant products
