Investment Support Manager

As part of continued international expansion, we are currently seeking to recruit an Investment Support Manager in London.
This role will provide centralized support for Investment Professionals located in London and Asia. This individual will work with the Senior Managers responsible for the Investor Support and Cash functions to define the evolving role of investor support in London. He/she will provide leadership to facilitate the appropriate support model that enables the firm to better leverage investors' time. It is expected that this individual will have the capability to assume greater responsibility and leadership within the Investment Administration Division over time.
Responsibilities
* Interact closely with investment teams to ensure the timely, accurate and concise delivery of operational information to be applied to the investment process;
* Act as a liaison between investment personnel and supporting infrastructure;
* Monitor complex accounts to ensure operational processing is in line with the investment construction process;
* Conduct analysis and respond to ad-hoc investor queries and issues in a timely manner;
* Enter and track cash flow requests for separate account clients via proprietary Client Flow System;
* Monitor exception based control reporting to help ensure accuracy, mitigate risk and facilitate specialized processing requirements for client cash requests;
* Review current and projected overdrafts on a daily basis and liaise with PM teams to clear;
* Perform passive portfolio rebalancing following client and PM guidelines;
* Monitor global market changes, operational mechanics and access;
* Build strong relationships with investors to understand their investment styles and portfolio construction techniques. Work to understand the unique needs of each to facilitate appropriate tailored operational support;
* Initiate or advocate changes to workflow, technology and organization in order to improve processes, leverage investors' time, and reduce operational risk through collaboration across the firm and across geographies;
* Develop a deep understanding of Wellington Management, the culture, where resources reside, and how various functional groups operate to enhance investor support;
* Provide leadership within Investment Administration and educate the division on the investment process and the requirements of our investment teams;
* Work with Product Management teams in London to help facilitate new product development process.
The successful candidate is likely to:
* Hold an undergraduate degree. A post-graduate degree or relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFA) or progress towards one, is prefered;
* Have 10-15 years of relevant professional experience, ideally gained within the Investment Management industry;
* Have extensive knowledge of global capital markets, coupled with a solid understanding of the investment industry and competitive environment;
* Demonstrate experience of working with a variety of investment approaches, particularly within fixed income, including a solid understanding of the investment and portfolio construction processes;
* Demonstrate the ability to understand and articulate complicated investment issues, in order to work effectively with investment professionals and other business units within the firm;
* Have a broad understanding of investment management operations;
* Have experience working with derivatives and synthetic exposures;
* Demonstrate a track record of initiating and managing change, utilizing strong business judgment, risk analysis skills and risk mitigation techniques;
* Be a dedicated, highly motivated and passionate professional, with a strong service and investment orientation;
* Have well developed interpersonal, presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written;
* Be well organized, resourceful, motivated and have the ability to adjust to rapidly changing priorities.
