Investment Vice President of Corporate Finance and Head of the Minneapolis Office

Prudential Capital Group (PCG) is one of the largest managers of private fixed income securities with nearly $60 billion of private debt and equity investments in nearly 950 companies worldwide (as of September 30, 2011). PCG typically invests $8 to $10 billion annually in privately placed investments, making it one of the largest corporate financing firms to middle market companies. PCG primarily invests in senior and mezzanine financings. Prudential Capital Group will soon be opening a new office to be located in Minneapolis and is seeking an Investment Vice President for this location. As an Investment Vice President of Corporate Finance, the incumbent will have responsibility for opening and overseeing PCG's new Minneapolis Office. This position will report to a Managing Director of PCG.

The Primary Responsibilities include, but are not be limited to:

· Managing a team of investment professionals that will be responsible for originating and managing private placements in the states of Iowa, Nebraska, North and South Dakota, as well as Minnesota
· Managing an existing $3.5 billion portfolio of private placements with about 40 clients (as of September 30, 2011)
· Originating new private placements of senior and mezzanine financings, typically ranging in size from $10 to $300 million
· Developing relationships with clients, prospects and intermediaries within geographic territories overseen by the Minneapolis office.
· Working with lawyers to successfully negotiate covenants and other provisions within loan documents
· Responsible for the management and development of investment professionals reporting into the Minneapolis Office
· Working closely with the Managing Director to successfully accomplish the objectives of the Minneapolis Office

Skills

· 10+ years of experience in the corporate finance industry
· An MBA and the CFA designation is preferred
· Strong analytic and investment skills and a proven track record in making and managing solid debt investments over time
· Critical reasoning, natural curiosity and good common sense
· Highly motivated and creative problem solver
· Excellent client relationship skills
· Strong leadership abilities and effective management skills, with a desire to manage, mentor and develop team members
· Keen organizational skills and an ability to manage many activities at once
· Ability to distill and then to clearly and concisely communicate complex issues to a variety of decision makers and audiences
· Excellent presentation and communication skills; having an ability to communicate results and influence decisions and direction at the senior management level
· Ability to convey a sense of urgency and to work productively with both office investment teams, as well as external clients
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results oriented environment
· Ability to travel is essential
