Job Posting ID: 2068 Working Location: Ellenwood, Georgia (CSC) Employment Type: Full-Time Regular Position Summary: This position supports the operation maintenance of the corporate network, the Intelsat ONE IP network and International Private Line (IPL) services in the Data Operations Center Level-2. Minimum Requirements: 2 year college degree - degree requirement can be met with equivalent hands-on experience. 1-3 years hands-on experience to include: Expertise and proficiency in Terrestrial transmission over fiber: digital signals ( SONET/SDH ), DWDM multiplexing, digital multiplexing, facility network architecture (Point-to-Point, Rings, etc.) and Element/Network Management Systems (EMS/NMS) Prior experience in provisioning and operating DACS. Create and troubleshoot end to end connectivity using software cross connect and physical cross connect information. Trouble isolation experience with T1 / E1 / DS3 / OC3 / OC12 / STM1 / STM4 . Familiarity with Signaling test equipments and DSX panels connections. Understanding of satellite communication ground control equipment including modems, converters, HPA, LNA, IFL and antenna systems desirable but not mandatory. Some experience in RF transmission equipment and troubleshooting desirable. Basic knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies and routing protocols (IS-IS, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS). Ability to work ONCALL in a high pressure environment to support 24x7 data operations team in troubleshooting and resolving network communications problems. Ability to work independently, without much supervision and able to react promptly to real-time issues. 3+ years related experience in Digital Communications, including Transmission, Data and Switching, preferably with Fiber provider and/or Internet Service Provider (ISP).
