We are currently seeking professional math educators to serve as K-8 Math Coaches in non-public schools in NYC. Working with individual elementary teachers during regularly scheduled school days, candidates will coach teachers in effective instructional practices and integration of math strategies to increase student achievement and engagement. Math Coaches are responsible for co-planning and modeling standards-based lessons, introducing strategies based on best practices and working with teachers to reach school wide and instructional goals. Math coaches will assist in identifying, acquiring an organizing available classroom resources to support the student achievement. Candidates must possess a flexible schedule.
In addition, these professionals may also be called upon to facilitate workshops for teachers.
The ideal candidate will possess a master's degree in education or a related field and at least 5 years experience as a math educator in elementary settings. In addition, candidates must possess an understanding of the NY state standards, including common core standards. Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills and written communication skills are necessary. Candidate should be proficient in the use of technology and instructional media tools.
