We have an exciting new opportunity for a dynamic professional as an IS Infrastructure Lead.  Reporting to the Manager, Information Systems, this position leads a function accountable for Osum’s Information Systems Infrastructure (network, servers, telephony, client devices), as well as ‘hands-on’ management of the infrastructure that supports Osum’s business systems. Other main responsibilities include supervising technical staff as required (contractors and/or employees) to ensure that service outcomes are defined and delivered; providing advanced support to the service desk clients; designing technical solutions and managing infrastructure projects.  The incumbent will demonstrate their talent in key performance areas such as technical solution design, implementation and support, leadership, communication and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

·        Ensure both availability management and capacity management for the Osum IS Infrastructure, as well as the long-term support structure (internal and/or external resources) to support mission critical functions.

·        Design and implement monitoring and reporting systems, as well as other tools to monitor and control Osum’s IS Infrastructure.

·        Adopt change management best practices to maximize infrastructure reliability and control.

·        Perform scheduled and repeatable processes such as system pro-active monitoring and event log management, performance analysis, configuration, and installation, maintenance, planning and overall technology design of Osum’s IS Infrastructure

·        Develop project plans including costs and risks, and lead infrastructure implementation and improvement projects.

·        Manage the configuration and maintenance of backup and storage/recovery processes, and update related procedures and the IT Backup/Recovery Plan.

·        Provide recommendations for tools, procedures, network enhancements and hardware to the Manager, Information Systems as well as a cost analysis and implementation plan.

·        Ensure that services are delivered with appropriate IT security technical and policy safeguards.

·        Provide technical expertise and guidance to the IS team and clients as required.

Requirements

You have an IT related diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, or a strong combination of experience and demonstrated ongoing industry learning. You have a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in an enterprise network administrative role, and 5 years of experience in a direct or functional leadership role.  You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and understand IT Service Management frameworks such as ITIL. You have experience designing, implementing and supporting complex enterprise technology environments using the Microsoft Server platform.

Experience with Oil Gas software systems and/or a Microsoft designation such as a MCITP are assets.
