ISDA Specialist
Responsibilities:
Draft, negotiate and review ISDA Master Agreements and other forms of Master Agreements relating to derivative transactions.
Ensure that traders are aware of the commercial and financial risk associated with their business and ensure that contracts/agreements drafted are fit for purpose and in line with the business’ standards and policies.
Liaise with Legal and ISDA counterparts from the other regions as necessary for more complicated agreements and group policy issues.
Liaising with Credit and Treasury to resolve any departure from any agreed contractual and credit obligation.
Maintaining an awareness of any new trade opportunities or legal restriction which may involve changes to existing procedures or support processes.
Understanding of the compliance issues affecting the relevant trades and reporting of any potential problems arising to the Compliance Manager.
Maintaining an in-depth understanding of the regulations pertaining to derivatives, in particular but not restricted to Dodd Frank legislation.
Supervise and coach the derivatives analyst who handle the day to day trade confirmations as well as providing support in terms of leave coverage and training.
Providing management information about the Key Performance Indicators for the business on a monthly and quarterly basis.
Skills/Requirements:
Min. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (Preferably with legal qualifications)
4-6 years of experience in ISDA and derivatives contracts within a commercial/legal environment
Highly disciplined approach to work required
Ability to perform under time constraint and work pressure
Ability to plan and organise the work to meet tight deadlines
Responsive and flexible work attitude, good team player
Knowledge and application of internal controls
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Works independently and pro-active in resolving issues and initiating change;
Good communication skills.
