Position Purpose
- Responsible for managing existing technology operations for the Hong Kong Branch and implementing new operations processes within the organization. Managing expectations across all stakeholder groups; sharing responsibility for project success the day-to-day management of IT infrastructure, organization and processes.
- Handle office administration tasks as required including premises matters.
- Coordinate and ensure updates of the Business Continuity Plan for Hong Kong.
- Manage local outsourced IT resource and vendors.
- Procurement.

Internal and External Client / Customer Service
- Provide superior service aligned with (internal) client’s needs and CBA’s business objectives, while ensuring all associated risk procedures, controls and frameworks are followed;
- Understand what is required in terms of the team’s interaction with both internal and external clients, as well as the processes for sourcing information from established relationships.
- Manage all IT vendor and supplier relationships.
- Liaison for vendor supplied onsite IT support personnel.
- Point of contact between the business and IT vendors for all incident management matters.
Contribution to Business / Profit
- Conduct testing and implementation of systems and changes to processes/workflow.
- Recommend and implement new systems/processes that decrease manual processes/Operational Risk.
- Investigation of IT operational discrepancies and following through to rectification.
- Continuous review of System requirements and utilisation.
- Escalation point for the Server Room, including ongoing maintenance of all servers and systems contained within.
- Escalation point for all business machines in the branch.
- Be the point of contact for all IT matters/issues.
- Management of all business related General Administration of the branch including Petty Cash Management, stationary, authorised Signatures, contracts, Property etc.
- Business Continuity Management.
- Maintain safe keys and all master keys for the office.
- Be point of contact for all procurement matters including raising requests in EDS BSC online system and ARIBA system.
- Meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions for areas of responsibility;
- Determine IT operations service requirements by analyzing needs of users/departments; modifications; resolves organizational conflict; developing and implementing documentation requirements for problem resolution;
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional forums.
Leadership / Management

- Ensure all team members adhere to various bank policies, controls, procedures and frameworks that exist within the organisation;
- Provide guidance and support to staff with hands on approach to BAU activity;
- Develop and implement cross training to ensure business continuity and staff development;
- Apply CBA’s people management systems to effectively manage such issues as occupational health and safety, recruiting and on boarding new staff, setting KRA’s and KPI’s, creating development plans, supervising work, providing feedback formally and informally, carrying out disciplinary procedures when necessary, recognising and rewarding staff, etc.
Risk Management / Compliance
- Report any issues affecting the team to management and comply with escalation protocols to minimise risk.
- Extract and report KPI data to highlight processing/operational risk issues to management, together with executing manual/system-based controls to mitigate these risks.
- In relation to your role, identify and assess the risks which could prevent you from achieving the objectives of your role. Plan and execute risk mitigating procedures. On a regular basis, report and discuss the results of your risk management.
- Ensure that you, and any team members under your direct leadership, comply with the Group’s Occupational Health and Safety policy, all other internal Group policies and procedures, and any relevant external legislative requirements.
General / Other
- Participate in any project related work as delegated by the Head of Operations.
