Introduction: Montash Associates have been engaged by one of the most prestigious banking organisations in the world, to assist with the addition of a Java developer for a strategic platform within a central derivatives team.
The Organisation: One of the world’s biggest brands, a Tier One Investment Bank with a very positive reputation.
The Team: The successful candidate will be joining a centrally based team that works on a critical project for the organisation. They are currently building out MarkitWire connectivity. This is a hardworking and well respected team that deals with a wide range of products. This team are currently building in new functionality and connectivity into the existing system. This team are about to embark on an exciting period of growth.
The Role: This individual will be a talented java developer capable of working with and without supervision. This is a creative role and as a senior member of this team you will be expected to offer solutions to increase the scalability of the system. This team are looking for individual to stand out from the crowd and be a ‘go to’ individual in future technology transformations. You will be a ‘hands on’ developer contributing to an ever growing code base.
The Technology:
- Very strong hands-on experience and in-depth expertise of Java.
- Track record of working on distributed systems and service-oriented architecture with complex system interactions.
- Strong understanding of derivatives and securities (transaction processing / order management , connectivity to Markit / DTCC)
- Strong experience in messaging protocols - FIX / FPML
- Strong relational database experience and SQL.
- Experience of messaging systems such as JMS and AMQ.
- Strong communication and team-working skills, business facing experience
- Experience with JUnit, Maven and Tomcat.
- Proven track record of ownership and delivery.
- A strong educational background within computer science, maths or similar
The Package: This bank are looking to attract the best developer from their competitors, as a result they won’t be beaten on total comp. A base of up to £120,000 plus a very good discretionary bonus mean that only the best need apply.
