As an established role to the business and part of the Procurement function and team. This role will make a significant contribution to establishing the Procurement team as the credible Commercial experts of choice, to business leaders and primary functional stakeholders. Reporting directly to the Director of Procurement, you will be primarily responsible for developing and managing a defined portfolio of IS spend. Leading and acting as primary commercial representative within cross functional teams, you will be pursuant to delivering challenging targets; savings; efficiency; best total cost and minimised risk.
Role Responsibilities
- Deliver specific savings and efficiency targets
- To initiate and lead projects to identify significant opportunities to reduce costs, reduce operational and commercial risks and increase value, across IS products and services.
- Manage risks linked to purchasing activity by promoting compliance with agreed policies, legal requirements and by engendering professional ethics.
- Managing vendor management systems to consistently improve defined performance criteria, in conjunction with business stakeholders.
- Tender preparation and analysis
- Functional process and procedure optimization.
- Ensure all areas within IS Procurement comply with all legal and statutory requirements applicable, including but not exclusively FSA legislation, data protection, health and safety and corporate governance.
Candidate Requirements
- You will be a confident procurement professional, with strong influencing skills and a proven track record within IT/IS procurement. You will naturally have a strong commercial understanding and an ability to manage major stakeholders and contracts.
- Ideally, you will have a commercial background in strategic IT/IS category management and sourcing, ideally in an FSA regulated environment.
- You will enjoy working in a focused, open and transparent environment with the utmost integrity. Working cross functionally, you will be a focussed task-finisher and self starter.
- Holding a CIPS qualification is desirable but not essential.
