The IT Director of Data Analytics oversees Information Services strategic planning and enterprise-wide development of data warehouse solutions in partnership with technical and business leadership and has accountability for enterprise-wide results.

 

This position reports to the Vice President and Chief Information Officer of the UNC Health Care System.

Responsibilities include:

Works in conjunction with the Chief Technology Officer and other Information Services Division (ISD) leadership for the overall architecture, design, development, deployment, maintenance, enhancement, services, and support of hardware and software for structuring/organizing, storing, retrieving, analyzing, and reporting strategic enterprise information and operational/production data.

Scope includes data for decision support, business intelligence, customer relationship management, data warehousing, meta-data repositories, operational data stores, and enterprise storage management.

Shares responsibility with marketing for business intelligence and customer relationship strategy and management processes.

Shares responsibility with the Chief Information Security Officer for data privacy and security.

Works closely with customers from a strategic perspective to identify and maximize opportunities to utilize data marts and/or data warehouse systems to improve business processes, promote the strategic use of information technology, and enable the workforce to use technologies as a competitive tool.

Ensures the development of enterprise-wide standards for the data warehouse in keeping with clinical and fiscal compatibility and integration of multi-vendor platforms.

Provides corporate leadership, vision, and direction for a data analytics environment including decision support systems, data warehouse, IS and federated data sources in support of the enterprise’s business objectives and requirements.

Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field; Or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Six or more years of Data Warehousing/Business Intelligence experience in the areas of designing, architecting, engineering, delivering implementation solutions in the BI space influencing senior level management and key stakeholders.

 

Minimum of five years' hands-on expertise and skill using Business Objects, query, reporting, database, and other analytic business intelligence tools.

 

At least three years senior level IT and business/industry work experience with advanced healthcare analytics, system integration, strategic planning, development, and maintenance of large-scale integrated relational database systems.
