POSITION SUMMARY:
Part of a global organization and working in a shift rotation (follow the sun support model), IT Front Office Solutions (FOS) specialists support Newedge clients and internal desks trading activities on various platforms / markets. Facing the traders, IT FOS specialists provide regular feedback to the business (real-time customer alerts / incident notifications) and release customer advisories for upcoming production changes.
Candidates for this position should hold the following qualifications and be able to demonstrate the following abilities to be considered as a suitable applicant. Please note that except where specified as preferred all points listed below are considered minimum requirements.
MAIN RESPONSIBITIES:
Trade Mitigation:
- Resolve client trading issues and answer enquiries in relation to futures and securities markets, i.e. order management, order cancellation and reconciliation of positions
- Track and document all trading related production issues in Newedge ticket system (Jira)
- Escalate customer complaints and claims to the regional Head of IT FOS
Incident management:
- Support all Newedge trading applications (order routing, market data, drop copy)
- Pro-active monitoring of the production systems (connectivity, order rejections)
- Escalate to other IT groups or vendors when required and follow up until full resolution
- Take ownership on outstanding production tickets and various customers’ enquiries
- Broadcast client outage notifications (email alerts) and provide regular updates
- Write detailed customer Incident reports, reviewed by Management
- Perform daily handover with other regions (report outstanding issues, changes)
- Follow IT FOS policies and Incident management / escalation procedures
ISV certification:
- Coordinate clients UAT on shared or dedicated trading platforms
- Validate new trading applications front ends (functional tests)
- Assist traders in the installation / configuration of their trading front end
- Participate in market rehearsals for exchange migrations or system upgrades
- Notify customers of upcoming production changes
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
A MUST
Education/Certification:
- University graduate or equivalent preferred
Knowledge:
- Exposure to one or more of the following trading platforms: Fidessa, Trading Technologies, GL Trade / Sungard, Patsystems, ORC, CQG, RTS, Fastfill
- Understanding of the FIX protocol (4.2 or above)
- Basic understanding of order life cycle, market data and trade flow
Experience:
- 3 to 5 years experience in financial markets (Securities or Derivatives markets)
- Application support of front office applications, or previous experience as broker / trader
Skills/Abilities:
- Attentive to details, accurate and well organized
- Co-operative and willing to assist others
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Able to work under stressful situation - be positive
- Analytical thinking mindset and ability to deal with multi-cultural and multi-layer of clients
Language Ability:
- Fluent in English
WOULD BE A PLUS
Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of networks (tcp/ip) and systems (OS)
- ITIL v3 foundations (IT service management)
- Write simple SQL queries (extract data from order / trade database)
Language Ability:
- Cantonese, Putonghua, Japanese or Korean
REQUIRED REGISTRATIONS:
- Trading in Futures Contracts (Monetary Authority of Singapore)
- Dealing in Securities (Monetary Authority of Singapore)
