We currently have an opportunity for a IT Infrastructure Information Security Analyst. As part of ArthroCare’s Global Information Technology team, this person will be responsible for the management and effective implementation of IT infrastructure, Information Security, and Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Planning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: (Other duties may be assigned)
IT Infrastructure:
- Assist in the planning, architecture, design, development, deployment and support of IT infrastructure services, solutions and capabilities throughout all stages of the Systems Development Life Cycle.
- Assist in managing 3rd party service providers such as network, telecom, and data center hosting, SaaS solution providers and managed service providers to meet and exceed SLA commitments
- .Assist in system administration management of Microsoft systems, data storage management, network infrastructure (e.g. LAN, WAN, VPN technologies, wireless networking.)
Information Security:
- Develop and maintain ArthroCare’s IT Security Policies ensuring that policies are aligned with the business objectives, the external security environment and available technology.
- Investigate systems security-related incidents in accordance with adopted policies and procedures.
- Provide technical IT security guidance, and policy interpretation and clarification to managers, data owners, project managers, and user departments.
- Ensure that systems adequately assess security risk balanced against cost.
- Ensure adherence to laws, statutes, rules or regulations related to information assets.
- Maintain Information Security Policies and Standards to ensure that they will equal or exceed requirements of external or company auditors.
- Ensure regular reviews are conducted to verify adherence to Information Security policies and standards.
- Maintain regular communication with business departments regarding their business and technical plans to ensure that information security issues arising from any changes to existing, or development of new, information systems that may result, are addressed at the appropriate time within the Systems Development Life Cycle.
- Identify IT security training and awareness requirements, methods, and vehicles. Conduct security policy awareness and training.
Business Continuity Disaster Recovery:
- Develop, maintain and improve the IT Department’s Disaster Recovery Plans.
- Ensure plans are in place for effective backup of critical information.
- Ensure processes exist to ensure business continuity and disaster recovery in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Oversee architecture design of the disaster recovery infrastructure.
- Ensure adequate emergency communication services are in place including messaging, employee notification and management communications.
- Develop disaster recovery test plans, manage tests and document results.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science / Management Information Systems or related discipline with 6+ years of post education experience in CS/MIS.
- Certification as a CISA, CISM, CRISC, SSCP, CCNA, or CCNP.
- Familiarity of IT audit frameworks such as ISO 27001, COBIT.
- Significant experience in IT operations with demonstrated IT Security skills.
- Previous network administration experience.
- Previous application development and/or application administration experience is a plus.
- Strong skills in implementing, managing and supporting required IT Security policies.
- Strong planning and execution skills.
- Solid understanding of system development life cycles, and IT Service Management.
- Experience working in a Sarbanes-Oxley and FDA-regulated company is highly preferred.
Language Skills: English as primary language.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills: Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project).
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CISA, CISM, CRISC, SSCP, CCNA, or CCNP required.
