The Job

The IT Manager plays a key role in the success of the company by supporting, implementing and upgrading Healthworks’ business applications, databases, servers, desktops and network, all of which are essential to the efficient operation of the business.

 

Principal responsibilities include:

                    Subject Mater Expert (SME) for our in-house Membership Management System (Motionsoft eClub with MS SQLServer), our Fitness Management System (Mind Body Online), Sales Software (InTouch), and document storage solution (Treeno) responsible for supporting and training users and configuring, monitoring, optimizing and upgrading the systems.

                    Administrating (Maintain, Upgrade, Configure, Secure, etc) Windows Servers, Microsoft Active Directory, our company email (Microsoft Exchange) and other applications servers as needed (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics, Paychex, PC Charge, Symantec End Point Protection, file servers, print servers, WordPress, MySQL, Bugzilla, etc).

                    Administrating (Install, Upgrade, Secure, Troubleshoot, etc) workstations at all locations.

                    Administer network, network devices and phones across all locations.

                    Conduct research on system upgrades to determine feasibility, cost, time required, and compatibility with the current systems and recommend new IT systems or upgrades to enhance Healthworks business processes.

                    Prescribe, monitor and verify system backup/disaster recovery procedures and direct recovery operations in the event of a system crash and loss of data.

                    Provide technical expertise to all company departments on best operational, sales and marketing practices.

                    Monitor, maintain and put in practice any solutions needed to maintain PCI Compliance.

                    Maintain vendor relations.

 

The Manager will be based out of our Corporate Office on Newbury Street in Boston and will need to travel to each location regularly (personal automobile required, 7 of 8 locations are within six miles of the corporate office while the remaining location is 20 miles away). 

 

Qualifications

Technical Experience and Knowledge

                    Self learning and mastering new software applications. Previous experience learning new enterprise software is required.  Knowledge of eClub and/or Mind Body Online a plus.

                    In person and phone based Technical Support experience preferred.

                    Administrating Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Active Directory.

                    Administering and troubleshooting Windows based desktops.

                    Administering MS SQL Server and MS Access

                    Ability to write and update SQL quires.

                    Developing and maintaining documentation of systems, applications, and networks.

                    Maintaining PCI Compliance.

                    Guiding, instructing and training coworkers on applications.

                    Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills and proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.

 

Education/Certifications:             

                    Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university in a relevant field; or 4+ years related experience; or a combination of education and experience

                    Certification a plus (A+, MCP, MCSE, etc.)
