Diesel Direct Inc, a fast growing diesel refueler, is seeking a hands on IT Manager.  Reporting  to the Director of Corporate Administration, the IT Manager’s role is to plan, coordinate, and manage all operational activities of the IT department. This individual will collaborate directly with the executive management team and decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.   The IT Manager’s primary responsibility is to oversee the streamlined operation of the IT department and to ensure it aligns with the business objectives of the organization.

In addition, one of the IT Manager’s primary goals is to manage application portfolios for each department and to create and attain all IT service level agreements for the user community within the organization.

·         Manage IT department operational and strategic planning, including business requirements, project planning, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources

·         Establish yourself as the technology and appliciation expert for the business by learning every aspect of the business

·         Identify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT systems and resources, including staffing, sourcing, purchasing, and in-house development

·         Keep current with trends and issues in the IT industry, including current technologies and prices. Advise, counsel, and educate executives and management on their competitive or financial impact

·         Act as the IT representative for customers seeking specific needs for information and invoicing.

 

Experience/Skill Set

·         University degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or business administration. Master’s degree in either of these fields with technology as a core component preferred

·         5 years experience managing an IT operation. Experience in Logistics /Petroleum business preferred.

·         Good understanding of computer systems characteristics, features, and integration capabilities.

·         Substantial exposure to data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications and outsourced systems including Microsoft Windows, SQL and Accounting Systems.

·         Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through to day-to-day management.

·         Ability to manage a small team while remaining hands on.

         Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

·         Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
