Job SummaryUnder technical direction, plans and leads less complex IT projects or a phase within a larger project. Maintains working relationships with client functional areas outside of IT.
Essential Duties Responsibilities1. Works with client management and project team to identify and meet project objectives.2. Coordinates schedules and assigns project tasks.3. Reviews, evaluates and formulates project plans, schedules and allocates staff and budget resources. Typical project budget: up to $500,000.4. Leads systems analysts, software designers and programmers to determine the best methods to achieve the projects objectives.5. Evaluates and reports progress in terms of quality and performance metrics.6. Works with client departments to coordinate systems testing, installation, training and support.7. Uses appropriate systems development methodologies to structure and organize the tasks to be completed by the team.8. Monitors and reports project status using established metrics against the plan.9. Provides input on performance of team members and may provide feedback.10. Stays up to date on trends and developments within functional area of expertise and insurance industry.

Skills, Knowledge Abilities 1. Strong analytical and organization skills.2. Developing project management knowledge and ability to apply project development methodologies, reporting techniques, and measurement techniques.3. A broad knowledge of the system development life cycle, and system and application program development technological alternatives.4. Strong knowledge of client area's functions and systems. 5. Good communication and interpersonal and consultative skills to work effectively with clients, peers, and IT management and staff.6. Understanding of team leadership and able to foster working relationships with the team and client departments.7. Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and other business related software systems. Primavera experience required.
Education Experience1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.2. Typically a minimum of four years related experience as an IT project team member with previous project leadership preferred. 3. Applicable certifications preferred.
