IT Purchasing Assistant Job in Monrovia 91016, California Us

GENERAL SUMMARY:   

Primarily responsible for procuring and coordinating the purchase and distribution of IT equipments.  Responsible for processing and approval of purchase orders and/or requisitions. Accurately input and use the purchasing system, resolve questions and issues with the various departments.

               

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: 

·         Review and approve purchase orders

·         Interface with clients to clarify their purchasing needs

·         Evaluate needs of purchasing and shipping department to improve efficiency of purchasing process.

·         Develop and coordinate procedures and best practices for efficient work flow.

·         Maintenance of inventory and purchase requests.

·         Communicate effectively in both oral and written format.

·         Gather vendor contract information for supervisor to review.

·         Answer phones and transfer calls to appropriate employees.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

·         Knowledge of basic standard purchasing practices, competitive bid procurement and negotiation.

·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

·         Basic knowledge of computer software and hardware.

·         Ability to exercise goods judgment and initiative with minimum supervision in an environment of rapid change.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES PREFERRED:

·         Worked for minimum of 6 months in an IT environment.

·         Strong computer skills and strong knowledge of MS Office and Windows environment.

·         Highly proficient in phone etiquette and customer service skills.

·         Experienced in using Help Desk tracking systems.

 

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE:

·         High school diploma or its equivalent and/or minimum 1 year related experience. Previous educational industry experience preferred.
