IT Security Operations Specialist
The Company
Robert Half Technology are working closely with this international Banking Financial Services Group to identify a talented IT Security Operations Specialist. The organisation provide a broad range of specialist products to their client base, have a stable international presence, and a complex and challenging technical landscape.
The Role
The Security Operations team is responsible for managing the technical and administrative elements of IT Security for all systems and applications used by the group. As a member of this team, the Security Operations Analysts are responsible for implementation and monitoring of the security controls that are deployed to maintain a strong security posture for the organisation. Although this role has a broad scope, the candidate will have a specific responsibility for leading our vulnerability management efforts, and for working with deployment teams across multiple locations and operating platforms to ensure that our application and infrastructure environments remain secure. The bias for this role is largely technical, with a focus on operational security tasks, so candidates should be comfortable working in a dynamic, multi-task environment. Experience of working within banking IT environments, and knowledge of PCI-DSS controls would be preferable.
Primary responsibilities for this contract resource will include managing developing Vulnerability Management processes across multiple locations and platforms (Process oversight, prioritisation / liaison with deployment teams etc); providing oversight for software patch management for operating systems and applications; assist with development of Security Event Monitoring processes; assist with definition of operational security standards for operating systems and infrastructure; conduct thematic risk reviews / assessments; conduct application infrastructure risk assessments; manage remediation of identified IT risk security issues; provide IT Risk Security consultancy projects; review/perform third party risk assessments; and security reviews of BAU change. Additional responsibilities will comprise support for wider team responsibilities (user access management; security event monitoring; ownership of IT risk activities); development of Operational Security Procedures; maintenance of the IT Risk Register; establishing security best practice; operational management of security technologies and solutions (McAfee, Symantec); develop extend IT Risk KRI's; and building and maintaining effective relationships with teams across functions and geographies.
The successful applicant will have well developed regulatory knowledge as applicable to this role. They will be confident with coaching assessment, and act with integrity at all times and embrace the organisations core values. The IT Security Operations Specialist will hold relevant industry accreditations or similar relevant experience (i.e. CISSP, CISM), be proactive, challenging, questioning and analytical, and have proven technical knowledge, skills and experience across a number of relevant IT disciplines. The successful candidate will have a positive, can-do attitude, be highly motivated by IT and risk management challenges, and have strong attention to detail. The IT Security Operations Specialist will need the ability to work in a matrix environment with interfaces to multiple teams / reporting lines.

£500-£550/Day
