Summary
Spot is currently looking for an IT Support Analyst to facilitate a quick response and proper resolution to any trading related incident or request. Also, this person will actively enable and sustain all trading at Spot as well as provide a stable technology environment to all Spot employees. This role requires occasional flexibility in regards to work hours.
Responsibilities
- Incident and Request Management
- Monitor trading applications and IT Infrastructure components
- Provide the help desk function including: initial creation of tickets, dispatching of incidents and requests, and acting as end-to-end point of contact for customers regarding tickets
- Provide first-rate Level I and Level 2 application and IT infrastructure support
- Provide on-call support duties
- Maintain knowledge base of common Level I and Level 2 issues and resolutions and make available to all support staff
- Thoroughly document all incidents and generate reports summarizing incidents
- Proactively understand the nature and frequency of tickets, and work to reduce recurring issues
Trading Support
- Responsible for all operational needs of the trading groups
- Perform middle office processes that support the mechanics of trading, including: Exercises, assignments, expiration processing, trade and position reconciliations, short stock locates, updating interest rates and volatilities et al
- Perform front office processes
Change Execution
- Conduct all technology related activities necessary to onboard, off board, or move employees in a consistent and thorough fashion
- Administer all user accounts, permissions, and access rights according to policy
- Prepare new servers for integration into the datacenter
Knowledge and Process Improvement
- Develop and document repeatable operational procedures
- Continually analyze and refine operational procedures and data flow to improve their efficiency, reliability and thoroughness via methodologies such as Six Sigma or ITIL
- Expand knowledge and skills by interacting with other teams, creating and using documentation, and internal cross-training
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree required
- Minimum 1-3 years practical experience with maintaining and troubleshooting of third party and proprietary applications
- Independent and creative when troubleshooting moderate issues
- Passionate about identifying and resolving problems
- Installing Hardware and Software
- General knowledge of networking
- SQL programming skills
- Comfortable working in an intense environment with the ability to balance multiple tasks at the same time
- Excellent interpersonal and customer facing skills
- High attention to detail
- Strong desire to work in capital markets / trading industry
- General knowledge or experience with: VLAN, nslookup, DHCP, TCP/IP, pinging, Telnet, ipconfig, Outlook/Exchange, 3rd party monitoring software, scripting (batch, perl, VBS, Python), server and workstation builds, command line utilities
