ITU/ICU NURSE JOBS IN DERBY
Hays are currently recruiting experienced ITU/ICU nurses to work through us in hospitals in and around Derby. For your application to be successful you will need to be experience of evaluating intensive care patients, administering care, recognising complications and co-coordinating with other members of the critical care team. Successful agency nurses also excel at interpersonal communication, adaptability, critical thinking and the ability to show initiative and make difficult decisions.
Successful nurses will be able to take advantage of our flexible hours ranging from 3 shifts per-week to full-time. We work hard to fit around our nurses’ availability.
This opportunity is open to experienced ITU nurses who:
· Have relevant, UK hospital experience
· Hold a current NMC registration
· Can be available for at least three shifts per week.
Some of your duties and responsibilities will include:
· Assessing a patient’s condition and planning and implementing patient care plans
· Treating wounds and providing advanced life support
· Assisting physicians in performing procedures
· Observing and recording patient vital signs
· Ensuring that ventilators, monitors and other types of medical equipment function properly
· Administering intravenous fluids and medications
· Ordering diagnostic tests
· Collaborating with fellow members of the critical care team
· Responding to life-saving situations, using nursing standards and protocols for treatment
· Acting as patient advocate
· Providing education and support to patient families
