THE ROLE
The successful candidate will join a small, cohesive and high-performing Japanese equities team. This team is one of the larger specialist Japanese equity managers is the market with an enviable performance track record. The candidate must demonstrate a strong fit with the team and an ability to embrace the investment process and learn from and leverage off the deep experience within the team.
This is an important role with a number of key responsibilities, including:
- Conduct in-depth analysis of potential investment candidates. This will include gaining a detailed understanding of the drivers of trend returns for the business in question and testing valuation with detailed modeling
- Present company analysis to the team, and clearly articulate and debate the key valuation drivers
- Participating in peer review of company research by other team members and review of portfolios
- Support the marketing effort as necessary
- This role has the potential to evolve into a portfolio management role over time
THE CANDIDATE
- The ideal candidate will have 3 - 5 years experience as an equity analyst with a demonstrable level of achievement

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong and appropriate academic and industry qualifications
- Japanese market experience and Japanese language skills would be looked on favorably but are not essential
- CFA Charterholder (or studying towards) would be an advantage
