Highly successful Tier 1 Investment Bank looking for solid Java Developer with J2EE, Hibernate and some Web experience to join their Asset Management arm.
The successful candidate will work as an application developer for the team's mutual fund trading platform. You will be part of a small team responsible for re-architecting all the legacy trading and reporting flows into a new strategic platform. This will include an internet facing trading platform.
To apply for this role the candidate must have the following technical skills:
Core Java development skills
Server Side J2EE development skills
Client side Web 2.0 Technologies such as AJAX, JavaScript, HTML
RDBMS SQL (Sybase, DB2 or SQL Server)
In addition to these technical skills candidates must have strong analytical and communication skills - this is because there is a lot of interaction with the business and you will be working on the full project life cycle from requirements gathering through to roll out. Your academic record will also be important - this bank hires very smart, switched on individuals with impressive backgrounds.
This role is intended to grow into a Lead Developer position once the candidate has become familiar with the system, so candidates who have these aspirations in the long term would be well suited.
Please note that whilst financial experience is an advantage, this team has taken on candidates from outside the banking industry before who have gone on to become very successful. So, if this sounds like a good skills match and you want to break into finance, this could be the role for you.
