Java Developer
Java Developer - Prime Services, Investment Bank, Hong Kong
The bank are seeking an experienced developer to be involved in the build out of applications used for the stock lending / stock borrowing business. You will be required to work with the business closely to understand requirements as well as managing / mentoring a small team of developers who are based off-shore.
Job Description:-
- Working on the design and development of applications used for pre-trade checking in the stock lending and borrowing business
- Using Java to develop server side components as well as working on the overall design of the systems
- Participating in code and design reviews using TDD techniques.
- Ensuring the offshore development teams are working within the defined parameters
- Capturing requirements from the business users where required and working with the business analysts to produce technical documentation for the development teams
Skills Required:-
- At least 10 years experience working on the design and development of real time, distributed applications using Java
- Good knowledge of one of Oracle, Tibco, Hibernate, Spring
- Experience working in an investment bank, preferably within equities or more specifically, stock lending and borrowing
- Very strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work as part of a regional team and perform leadership if required
This role would suit a programmer with some leadership experience and very strong, hands on technical skills. Any exposure to the Prime Services / Securities Lending businesses would be viewed extremely favourably, although candidates with strong equities will also be considered.
