Java J2EE Application Support Job in Melbourne 3000, Victoria Australia

- Must have strong Java/J2EE Application Support background
- Must be available to commence in next 2-3 weeks
This is an exciting opportunity for a Java/J2EE Application Support Engineer to join a high profile project in Melbourne on a 12 month contract to support a bunch of self service applications including fixing and developing minor enhancements from time to time. The role will be a support focussed position and hence requires background and interest in supporting Java/J2EE based applications.
Background Required:
•Tertiary qualifications in IT or equivalent experience
•5+ years’ experience in systems development, implementation and support
•Solid experience (min 5 years) of Java and J2EE development
•Solid experience (min 2 years) of web development
•Knowledge of Data and Object modelling (E-R UML)
•Solid experience and understanding of end-to-end IT systems development and methodologies.
•Understanding of the principles of the ITIL methodology
•Spring 2.5 or higher
•Hibernate
•Experience with web services: CXF, Apache Axis, or similar
•JMS
•Agile experience
Desirable:
• Maven
•JavaScript, CSS, JQuery
• Spring integration
• Weblogic
• BDD/ATDD tools such as fitnesse, cucumber
• Oracle
