Johannesburg based Financial Controller recruitment
A unique opportunity for a Senior Group Accountant has arisen in an African based Mining Company. This industry leader has multinational offices and operates multiple mines, boasting extensive reserves.
As Group Accountant in the head office, you will have to perform complex consolidations of the international operations, prepare accounts under IFRS, submit a monthly cash call to the Finance Director in the London office, prepare quarterly management accounts and address variances, prepare the annual corporate budget for approval by the board.
To be considered for this role you will be a chartered accountant with around 5 years post qualifying experience within industry, preferably mining. You must be very strong with consolidations and IFRS, with proven experience. This role is based in Johannesburg where you will be a permanent resident, so you must be willing to relocate if necessary.
This opportunity has a strong commercial aspect which requires you to liaise with various finance persons, this means you will have to travel to Zimbabwe, elsewhere in Africa, and two trips a year to London for up to a month's duration.
