Junior Analyst
Portfolio and Market Risk Management (PMRM) is part of the Group Centre Risk Management team and as such provides Group-wide risk management services. The two main team functions are Portfolio Risk Management and Market Risk Management.
An opportunity has become available to join the Risk Analytics and Reporting Team (RAR) that sits within Governance and Reporting. The team's purpose is to manage the production of accurate, informative and timely traded market risk reports and the calculation of regulatory capital.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the development of the operating framework that delivers accurate, reliable and timely reporting to senior management, regulators and the Board.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
- The construction and enhancement of systems, databases, and analytical tools that enable the team to report on and analyse risk exposures.
- Assist in developing and managing a robust and reliable risk system operating platform.
- Assist in progressing work practices and procedures that improve productivity.
- Focus on providing excellent customer service.
You will operate in a manner constituent with the Group's Values and Risk Management Cultural Themes with a particular emphasis on team work and collaboration.
You will have:
- Very high proficiency with programming languages including VBA (MS Excel Access), SQL and Oracle.
- Able to communicate in a clear, concise and effective manner including the sharing of ideas.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work well within a team.
- Basic understanding of globally traded financial instruments including interest rate, fixed income, equity, and commodity products.
- Studying to obtain or completed tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Sciences, Economics, Commerce, Finance or a related discipline.
