Background:
Liberum Capital Limited is niche investment bank with offices in London and New York. Liberum started trading in September 2007 and has grown to a current establishment of circa 140 employees.
The core activities are:
- Research, Sales and Trading – large cap European equities, small and mid cap European equities and investment funds
- Market Making – small and mid cap UK equities and investment funds
- Corporate Finance – IPOs and secondary issues, MA advice.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support to Senior Renewables Analyst in the financial modelling of target companies.
- Assist in the preparation of focus-company meeting notes, both before and after company meetings.
- Attend and actively participate in company management and industry figures meetings and analyst presentations.
- Maintain economic data relevant to the sector; update spreadsheets or company results, industry data and trends.
- Organise lists of industry contacts, and help develop VC/Private Equity deal sourcing database.
- Good understanding of capital markets: pre-IPO, IPO and secondary fund raisings is an advantage
- Keep the team's financial models updated, and liaise with CFOs of house brokership stocks every 1 - 2 months.
- Organise the team's Company Reporting Calendar
- Follow wider market for economic/industry data that impacts the media sector e.g. economic data, performance of big advertisers etc.
- Research new ideas which may lead to formal analysis and present those ideas internally to the team.
- Ad hoc duties within the team
Skills, Attributes and Credentials
Essential
Clear understanding of the role of and passion to be a sell-side analyst
Fully competent with Office Suite (advanced Excel and Powerpoint)
Good understanding of valuation techniques, their applicability and issues within each valuation methodology
Expertise in interpretation of financial and management information in own specialist sector
Able to communicate financial information effectively both verbally and in writing
Highly analytical, detail oriented and logical (completer/finisher)
Has a high degree of integrity, both with clients and colleagues
Demonstrates a clear ability to ‘think outside the box’
Able to plan own time effectively to ensure all information delivered error free and on time in a fast-paced and demanding environment; able to prioritise key task and meet strict deadlines; calm and focussed under pressure
Proven ability to complete complex projects both individually and by working with others
Proven track record as effective team member; confident in liaising with all staff across all departments of the business
Flexible approach to tasks and workload, including some mundane and repetitive tasks
Able to deliver a variety of tasks with minimal supervision
Able to demonstrate an innovative and proactive attitude to tasks
Excellent attendance record
At least 2 years relevant experience
Desirable
CFA or ACA qualified
1st or 2:1 from reputable university
