A well-known, well-established Hedge Fund/Registered Investment Adviser located in midtown NYC with approximately $3B AUM is seeking a Junior Compliance Associate to assist the Firm's Chief Compliance Officer, General Counsel and several other people within the Company's compliance area. This is a junior role meant for a recent college graduate with excellent academic credentials who has attended a highly rated and well regarded college or university. Compliance experience would be a very big plus and would help to being successful in this role but it is not a strict requirement. However, a strong interest in securities law compliance is essential.
The duties of this role will include assisting the Firm’s Chief Compliance Officer with a variety of substantive and administrative compliance matters, including audits and eventually some policy work. This person will also be required to interface with various internal business units, the variety of stakeholders including traders and analysts. So by definition, candidates should be friendly, very intelligent, a team player and hardworking, with top notch verbal and written communication skills and the ability to navigate pressure filled situations with integrity, patience and perseverance.
This position requires a BA and proven scholastic achievements as well as strong organizational, writing and speaking skills. Relevant internships/6 months of experience are preferred but candidates who can prove demonstrable interest in this side of the securities business will be considered as will recent grads looking to go on to either law school or business school 2-3 years down the road.
