Job Summary

SCM is looking to hire a junior equity trader for a full-time position in Arlington, Virginia.

Essential job functions include:

  1. Working as part of a team, seek liquidity and best execution in transacting in domestic and international equities on our clients’ behalf.
  2. Monitor and process market activity and communicate relevant information to Portfolio Managers, Trading staff, and Compliance Team as needed. Daily recap and market commentary will be provided on portfolio holdings to the Investment Team.
  3. Assist in all aspects of the trade life-cycle. As needed, assist other traders, account operations, settlement and reconciliation specialists, and client relations staff to ensure accurate and timely processing of all trade-related activity.
  4. Model, transact in, and efficiently maintain portfolios in various wrap programs, HNW and institutional accounts, as necessary.
  5. Regular and ad hoc reporting, to include liquidity/risk analysis, trade activity logs, and commission tracking.
  6. Assist the head trader in vetting and implementing industry best practices, trading platforms, and interfacing with broker-dealers.
  7. The trading position will require regular off-hours/overnight trading from our Arlington, VA location.
