Junior Front-End Developer
We're looking for a junior front-end developer to join our mission to become the number one online health care company in the world, assisting in delivering a wide range of internal and user-facing applications through our award-winning platform.
We are an ambitious, focused and fun team built of 42 doctors, developers, ops and marketers – all passionate about re-imagining the world’s health care so that it is radically simpler, faster and more affordable.
We are looking for a junior front-end developer to work alongside our two senior front-end developers - this is a great opportunity to develop your skills in a small, friendly development team. You will work closely with our Marketing, UX, Clinical and Product teams on enhancing our existing product offering as well as supporting the senior front-end developers with new projects.
This will likely involve:
- Working within an agile environment with regular releases
- Development of new and existing internal and user-facing applications
- Maintaining and continuously improving the client code base so that it is well architected and optimised
- Updating and improving the user-facing CMS (Content Management System)
- Working alongside the Marketing, UX, Clinical and Product teams to help with user improvements and testing across multiple applications
- Contribute to existing front-end workflows
Main requirements
- A degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Maths or related discipline with at least 1 years experience in front-end web development
- Experience of using HTML, HTML5, CSS 2.1/3, Vanilla Javascript, jQuery, AJAX
- Have a passion for great design and UX
- Be highly motivated to learn within a highly collaborative, demanding environment
- Actively interested in current / new technologies in order to offer alternative solutions and tools to enhance our applications
Nice to have
- Basic knowledge of PHP would be an advantage
- Knowledge of some web development best practices would be nice to have
- Basic photoshop skills and experience working with a CMS would also be an advantage
