Junior Fund Accountant recruitment
The Opportunity:
Our client is looking to recruit a Junior Fund Accountant. The role will report directly to the Fund Accountant and work alongside the existing team. Your responsibility will be to support the Fund Accountant and other team members in the day to day accounting and operation and in the quarterly reporting cycle of the portfolio of fund vehicles and segregated client accounts.
The role:
• Accounting and monthly reporting for about 10 account clients
• Liaison with fund administrators and custodians
• Performance analysis and measurement of investments, client accounts and fund vehicles
• Contacting underlying fund administrators to obtain up-to-date prices
• Preparation of ad-hoc financial analysis
• Updating records and systems to account for AUM (Asset Under Management), transactions, fees billable, reconciliations etc.
• Compliance with internal controls
• Ad-hoc project work
Skills required / essential:
• Part qualified ACCA/CIMA
• Ideally, you will have fund accounting background but private equity, hedge funds or real estate experience would be also relevant.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good problem solving skills. You should be a team player with excellent attention to detail and an analytical approach.
• Proactive and able to organise your own work and schedule with ability to meet deadlines
• Good Excel skills would be advantageous.
• We are also interested in hearing from bright graduates with an accounting related degree. (very strong record of academic achievement and a numerate degree – 2.1 is an absolute must)
