Junior Operations Trade Support – Leading Global High Frequency Trading Firm – London recruitment
My client is one of the World’s leading high frequency trading business, with offices in the US, Europe and Asia. They trade across asset classes on an intraday basis, utilising cutting edge technology to make significant yet low risk profit. This position represents a rare opportunity for a technically minded individual to join their business at a junior level and learn the intricacies of intraday trading from some of the industry’s leading practitioners.
The successful candidate will have a broad range of responsibilities. Primarily the focus of the role is managing and reconciling trading positions and updating parameters for current day’s trading using in-house applications. In addition you will be required to interact with exchange trade support and also with internal IT support to communicate trade and system issues as and when they arise.
This is a technical position. As such, candidates are required to have experience using scripting languages (including Shell, Perl and Python). Experience using Excel to an advanced level is also required. Financial knowledge is preferred. Candidates are expected to have at least a Bachelors Degree from a leading university in a technical subject, such as Computer Science or Maths.
Requirements:
• Ability to follow specific instructions and general guidelines in the context of product operations support
• Windows and Linux knowledge highly desired
• Experience with Perl or Python a strong plus
• Shell scripting (ksh or bash)
• Proficient with Excel, comfortable working with spreadsheets on a daily basis.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and excellent documentation skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects in a busy, demanding environment
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Financial / trading industry experience a plus
