Junior Portfolio Manager, Bond Financial Institutions Group recruitment
BlackRock's Fixed Income team manages more than $1 trillion in global fixed income assets across index, active long-only, alternative, and liability driven strategies. The platform offers fixed income investors one of the industry's broadest array of investment choices across model-based and fundamental investment styles.
As part of the Financial Institutions Portfolio Management Group, the position of Junior Portfolio Manager will work closely with FIG's Portfolio Managers and the firm's Investment Teams across all of our taxable accounts implementing the group's investment strategy, managing client subscriptions redemptions, and maintaining portfolio compliance. This role requires strong analytic skills with knowledge of broad markets and asset classes and a genuine passion for investing as the successful candidate will be expected to contribute broadly to the group's investment decision-making process.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in general portfolio management within all fixed income asset classes, executing the group's investment strategy consistently across accounts.
- Think intelligently about the markets and form views on the macro portfolio positioning as well as develop a strong relative value framework across fixed income asset classes.
- Invest daily client subscriptions and ensure redemptions are dealt with in an efficient manner.
- Maintain general sector allocations and consistency with the group's portfolio strategy.
- Work closely with the Global Client Group, coordinating client requests with general portfolio investment strategy and daily investment activity.
- Maintain overall portfolio compliance and organize the resolution of issues with the appropriate individuals.
- Work on various assignments as it pertains to the junior role.
- Contribute to the group's primary objective of generating alpha for clients.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years professional work experience in the financial services sector.
- Working knowledge of the financial markets, with familiarity in fixed income products and investing.
- Excellent quantitative skills; proficient with Microsoft Excel, Bloomberg experience a plus
- Demonstrated planning and organization skills and the proven ability to work efficiently under pressure. Ability to work with challenging situations in a mature manner.
- Genuine interest in fixed income investing and ability to develop market and sector views.
- Successful experience working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment; drive to succeed.
