As a result of this continued expansion we are now looking for a highly motivated passionate individual to join our Strategy team This role is based in our beach front Austinmer Office, offering a unique place to work with a great work life balance. You will be highly intelligent with advanced numerical and problem-solving skills, an ability to think quickly and handle pressure. You will be ambitious, disciplined and focused on self-development. You will form part of the Strategy department within Tibra that is responsible for developing and implementing high level business strategy along with developing processes to create, deploy and measure these strategies. Also under the responsibility of Strategy Department is overseeing our Quantitative Trading and Algorithmic teams to develop new trading strategy. The team focuses on automated, research based trading across all products and asset classes.
The role itself involves:
- Analysing large volumes of real world financial and price information
- Optimising and improving algorithmic trading strategies
- Back-testing for refinement and optimisation of system and maximum of trading PL
- Assist with evolving the firm’s trading strategies to keep pace with market developments
- Developing models sophisticated enough to assist complex trading strategies
- Analysis of Trading PL
- Enhance existing systems
- Pronto-type solutions in Matlab

Essential criteria:
- An advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics of Applied Mathematics with an average of Distinction/ High Distinction grade
- Excellent programming skills (with C++, Java, C#, C or similar
- Experience with Matlab preferred
- Experience with numerical solution techniques, signal processing, optimisation
- Practical experience in the development and application of mathematical models in finance or other quantitative field
- Excellent written and verbal Communication skills
- Be a reliable quick thinker who can work under pressure
- Team player but can work independently and unsupervised
