Overview

The firm are one of the longest standing and most prestigious investment banks in the world with offices in Asia, the US, UK and Middle East. The group currently hiring are a systematic market making group that focus on developing quantitative trading strategies across the FX and Futures markets. The global head is looking to bring on board 3 elite junior researchers with a combination of strong maths and programming ability for their US and UK market making desks. The emphasis is on fresh graduates (any level) who have a very strong educational background from global academic institutions and have the technical and mathematical ability to be successful in the role.

In terms of the role; you will be responsible for researching and developing quantitative trading strategies that for part of the firms market making business. This will involve statistical analysis, mathematical modelling and large scale algorithmic development. From a programming perspective you will be involved in infrastructure and architecture development- working with distributed systems and creating your own machine learning algorithms for computational analysis. In terms of education, the firm is keen to speak to candidates that have a strong background in engineering, maths/ statistics, physics or computer science- other areas may be considered but candidates must have strong programming skills in C++ and Java. Candidates that can show excellence such as relevant internships or maths/ physics/ chemistry Olympiads are highly desirable. You

• Must have a very strong academic background from an established institution- either at PhD, Msc or BSc level.

• Technically strong in C++ and Java- across Linux, Unix.

• Strong interest in maths and programming

• Top of the class student

• Internships or maths competitions winners are desirable

• Ability to work in the US or UK
