Junior/Intermediate Mechanical Engineer
Description:
Design Group Staffing is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer for our Edmonton client.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all technical aspects of projects and provide technical support, instructions, and project documentation in accordance with contract specifications.
- Perform new product design, maintenance and revision of existing designs, and project specific design in conjunction with engineering and corporate management.
- Ensure that drawings, work instructions and other published works are to the in accordance with relevant Engineering and industry standards and HSE requirements.
Duties Include:
- Coordinates the technical aspect of customer contracts and proposals, to ensure that the needs of the project are met;
- Assists in the development and direction of respective product lines through research, innovation and collaboration;
- Prepares all technical documents required for the work order package including drawings, bill of materials, weld plans, and factory acceptance test procedures;
- Provides technical product support to internal departments and customers;
- Directs the required technical personnel in the creation of documents to support project specific documents;
- Coordinates design activities and maintains design files on new or existing products;
- Initiates or approves Engineering Change Notices;
- Modifies or creates drawings, engineering standards, procedures, and documents related to the design, manufacture and assembly of the product;
- Approves engineering drawings, calculations and documents related to design activities;
- Directs the activities of Technical Draftsperson/Designer(s);
- Provides training for new and existing personnel.
Qualifications and Attributes:
- Three to five years engineering experience and knowledge of choke valve function;
- Extensive Experience and field knowledge including operational experience on the product line or equivalent,
- Graduate from a recognized University with a degree in Engineering;
- Eligible for Registration with APEGGA;
- Solid work ethic and the ability to work effectively in a team environment;
- Good interpersonal and communication skills;
- strong attention to detail;
- Strong mechanical aptitude;
- A commitment to workplace health and safety.
