KDB+ Team Lead (VP) & Developers (Associate) – Investment Banking recruitment
The role is for a developer to work in a newly formed team responsible for many of the KX systems used in Equities.
- This is a pan-equities role, with business exposure at the highest level. Components such as ticker plants, order and execution services are used by many of the firm’s automated and manual trading systems.
- Other components provide analytics to the firm’s internal and external analytics systems, such as TradeSpex.
- The group’s responsibilities also include a new state-of-the-art system providing position and risk management globally.
- The team will initially be composed of 8 developers in Europe, and will take the leading role in global development strategy in this area.
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required
- Q (KX development tools). They should be an expert in Kdb+ Q. Preferably with some experience of K.
- They should have very good understanding of software development best practices, and how to use them to achieve timely delivery without compromising quality.
- They should be highly self-motivated and able to work autonomously as well as on collaborative development efforts.
- They should have experience building high-availability, mission critical software and be prepared to provide support if and when it is needed.
- They should be comfortable interacting directly with all levels of business user and stakeholder.
- They should have a very good understanding of the tools, frameworks, languages, principles and best practices required for the design and implementation of usable, reliable and maintainable large scale applications.
- They should be very comfortable working in a unix-based development environment, and using unix tools and scripts to configure build/deployment environments.
- They should enjoy the challenge of making enhancements to large existing applications in addition to green-field development.
