JOB DESCRIPTION:
Overview:
Under direct supervision, this position will perform environmental monitoring, water sampling, media preparation, quality testing, glassware maintenance, documentation and SOP updates, pH, inventory management, and waste handling.
Responsibilities:
- Media preparation, rotation, and destruction. Growth promotion and expiry testing of media. Solution preparation and pH.
- Environmental monitoring (EM), water sampling and bioburden testing, and training other technicians on procedures.
- Lab equipment use, maintenance, and cleaning. Glassware maintenance, autoclave utilization, preparation of sterile items.
- Preparation of microorganisms for identification. Maintain American-type Culture collection (ATCC) organisms for the lab and training other technicians on procedures.
- Ability to become qualified to train other technicians.
- Maintain accurate, detailed records of work performed. SOP Updates.
- Inventory, filling, and ordering of supplies.
- Handle hazardous/corrosive waste.
- Follows cGMP and USP requirements, Teva Safety, Health, and Environmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associates Degree within a Life Science Discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of related laboratory experience required.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes obtained through a minimum of 2 years experience within a manufacturing environment.
- cGMP and Standard Operating Procedures as related to a laboratory/manufacturing environment.
- LIMs knowledge preferred.
Knowledge and experience in some types of microbiological testing and identification. Basic computer skills with knowledge of MS Word, Windows and Excel. Basic math skills. Able to effectively communicate both verbally and written. Ability to set priorities, multitask and adjust to changes in work assignments. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Able to work overtime and weekends when needed. Individual may be required to handle hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Individual may be required at times to wear Personal Protection Equipment. Not allergic to chemicals or biosubstances found in laboratory or production facilities.
