Latin America Credit Analyst

Debtwire, part of the Mergermarket Group, is a leading provider of intelligence and research on corporate, high yield and distressed credit, has an immediate opening in its New York Office for an Analyst. Our Latin America desk offers breaking news on debt restructurings as well as capital markets, coverage of sub-investment grade-rated new issuance, local market and foreign currency refinancings, and liability management exercises across Latin America and the Caribbean. Our analyst team works closely with the editorial team to compile research and draft credit reports on select distressed and highly leveraged companies. These reports provide an overview of a company’s business, industry, and capitalization as well as identifies the key credit stress factors plaguing its finances and operations.

Accountabilities include writing research reports, industry reports, as well as database maintenance that include: keeping the capital structure of the companies up-to-date, updating credit ratings actions, etc.

Requirements include:

Excellent English writing skills, fluency in Spanish and Portuguese and a strong understanding of corporate finance concepts, particularly in high yield credit analysis. Candidates should have proven experience in the region, ideally having previously covered corporates in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico. They should be knowledgeable of US GAAP, IFRS and local GAAPs.
