My client owns and manages a portfolio of Industrial Office properties in the GTA. I am conducting a search for Leasing Law Clerk to join this team.
Role and Responsibilities
Managing various real estate transaction files, including leases, assignments, renewals, amendments and agreements
Preparing and processing documentation for transactions, including leases, purchase/sale of real property and other transactions.
Preparing and processing lease-related documentation, including estoppels certificates and non disturbance agreements.
Assisting in the preparation, drafting, processing and administration of contracts, including amendments, extensions and terminations.
Assisting in due diligence required for transactions.
Assisting in interpretation of legal documents.
Opening, closing and updating files, and filing them appropriately.
Maintaining online tickler system database.
Conducting initial legal and business research.
Ensuring cooperation and open communication between Legal Services Department and other personnel in the Company, including Real Estate Administration personnel.
Qualifications and Experience
Successful graduate of a law clerk program
At least 8 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a corporate or law firm environment
Experience in commercial leasing
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Thorough, with strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Proficient in MS Office; online business and legal research tools
Self-starter, works independently and requires minimal supervision works well as part of a team
Proven initiative, problem solving and resourcefulness
