PART TIME LEGAL ASSISTANT

Compensation commensurate with experience and ability.
Experience preferred but not required, extensive training will be provided.
Assisting an attorney at a small, but very busy Newington law firm, specializing in Criminal Defense, Elder Law, and Civil Litigation.
Duties:
* Handle the office billing via Quickbooks.
* Maintain law office filing system.
* Compose letters from recorded dictation.
* Document review, research, and compilation.
* Keeps operations on schedule by picking-up and deliveringitems.
* Accomplishes law firm mission by completing related results as needed.
Skills/Qualifications:
PC Proficiency, Professionalism, Supply Management,Scheduling, Multi-tasking, Ability to Follow Instructions to the Letter,Organization, Equipment Maintenance, Legal Administration Skills, ClientRelationships. Fluency in Spanish is aplus, as is experience with Quickbooks, experience in law enforcement, and anyprior law office experience.
Experience in a law firm setting is preferred, but is notnecessary, as the firm is willing to train the right person. We encourage people from all backgrounds toapply, including men and women returning to the workforce after raising afamily.
Posted hours and wages will be in effect during the 90 daytraining period. If you complete thistraining successfully, you will be evaluated, and your pay and hours adjustedaccordingly.
