SCOPE : Under direct supervision of Operations Management, and in coordination with multiple divisions, oversees planning, directs, and implements long distance dispatch activities; vehicle scheduling, allocation; communicates with staff in accordance with established policies and objectives to affect economic utilization of vehicles, drivers, and operations for household goods (HHGs) delivery and service. QUALIFICATIONS : Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a technical school; or six years ?? related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read, interpret documents and apply; safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence. Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Excel. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram format. Ability to resolve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Proven record of leadership role and successful cost management responsibilities in industry related application. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Management of policies, programs, and procedures for long distance dispatch operations, including schedules, rates, routes, assignment of drivers and vehicles, and other HHGs operational activities for team of 50 drivers - both employee and contractor status. Assignment of departmental duties in support of Operational and Administrative requirements, scheduled and ad-hoc. Submits recommendations for development of, and compliance with, transportation policies, procedures, and programs. Ensures compliance to agreements and contracts entered into by the company. Manages schedules of available agents, contractors and/or vehicles for long distance HHGs supporting service needs. Manages relationship and scheduling of interline carriers and agents in support of operational service needs and back haul revenues. Assigns equipment and crew leader (driver) and/or vehicles according to factors such as length and purpose of trip, freight requirements, etc. Directs compilation and issuance of timetables. Conducts continuous analyses of vehicle and driver assignments and analyzes scheduling for possible consolidation. Reviews and revises driver schedules to ensure increased efficiency and cost reductions. Reviews and analyzes reports, such as revenue and performance records, and seat occupancy patterns to secure information for recommended process improvements. Analyzes proposed schedules and rates, initiates preparation and distribution of proposed trip schedule changes, and submits analyses of data and rescheduling recommendations to Operations Manager and/or administration. DEPARTMENTAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES POC for fleet scheduling requests. Directs activities of drivers by phone or through electronic transmissions. Scheduling of all LD tonnage from load to tentative delivery dates Manages relationship of interline carriers and agents in support of operational service needs and back haul revenues. Resource hauling lists for revenue opportunities and cost effective planning. Plans scheduled hauling activities with fleet, agents, etc. Plans back haul acceptance and scheduling activities with fleet, agents Determines all NAVL hauling assignments and reporting in SIRVA systems. Retains all SIRVA system updates and trip reporting for NAVL. Determines all NAVL hauling assignments and reporting in SIRVA systems. Retains all SIRVA system updates and trip reporting for NAVL. Monitor activities and adherence by driver fleet of regulatory and company policies, programs, and procedures for long distance household goods operations, including schedules, route planning and operational support for a team of 50 drivers of both employee and contractor status. Maintains updated information and details within all partnership operating systems. Determines all NAVL hauling assignments and reporting in SIRVA systems. Retains all SIRVA system updates and driver / trip reporting for NAVL. Monitors all Safety Compliance communications on fleet performance and compliance and in unison with Operations Management communicates and supports disciplinary action with drivers. Apply
