Lead Associate

The Lead Associate is responsible for providing risk assessment of major firms to identify potential harm for their consumers, but also consulting with senior management on how to mitigate these risks. The role will involve:
- Analysing firms` business models and strategies. This includes conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis of firms` business strategies and financial forecasts, and assessing the potential conduct risks to consumers which may arise from these. You and the other members of the assessment team will be responsible for drawing robust conclusions from your work, and will discuss your findings with company senior management.
- Undertaking firm assessments - working as part of a team to test firms` practices and understand where these may cause harm to consumers. These assessments comprise four modules - governance, product design, sales and post-sales handling. You will work closely with the firm`s supervisors and other company experts, conduct interviews with the firm`s senior management, and use your judgment to assess whether the risks to consumers are acceptable and how we can manage the potential harm to consumers.
- Helping to further develop the Firm systematic framework (FSF). This includes proposing how our regulatory approach should look for areas where this is still in development. You will have a strong understanding of business and regulatory risks facing UK retail financial services firms. You will think critically about the strengths and weaknesses of firms` strategies and the impact of these risks on consumers.
You will have solid relationship management skills and ideally previous man management experience.
You will have broad experience from financial services, including insurance, retail, wholesale and asset management.

£70000-£90000 plus benefits
