Senior Associate

The role of Senior Associate will involve:
- Analysing firms` business models and strategies. This includes conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis of firms` business strategies and financial forecasts, and assessing the potential conduct risks to consumers which may arise from these. You and the other members of the assessment team will be responsible for drawing robust conclusions from your work, and will discuss your findings withcompany senior management.
- Undertaking firm assessments - working as part of a team to test firms` practices and understand where these may cause harm to consumers. These assessments comprise four modules - governance, product design, sales and post-sales handling. You will work closely with the firm`s supervisors and othercompany experts, conduct interviews with the firm`s senior management, and use your judgment to assess whether the risks to consumers are acceptable and how we can manage the potential harm to consumers.
- Helping to further develop the Firm Systematic framework. This includes proposing how our regulatory approach should look for areas where this is still in development. You may discuss these proposals withcompany senior management, and may be asked to develop documentation to support the rollout of this approach to supervisors.

You will have a good understanding of business and regulatory risks facing UK retail financial services firms as well as strong analytical skills. You will be able to assess strengths and weaknesses of firms` strategies and understand the key risks to the consumers of these firms.
You will also have strong relationship management skills and demonstrable experience of dealing with senior management as well as presenting yourself credibly.
