Posted Position Title: Lead Combustor CFD Engineer / Technologist - Military Career Level: Experienced Function Engineering/Technology Function Segment: Product Design and Development Location: United States U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces: Ohio City: West Chester Postal Code: 45069 Relocation Assistance Yes Role Summary/Purpose: The Lead CFD Engineer / Technologist will support our Large Military programs and provide leadership in the computational design phase of program. In this role you will utilize your expertise in computational fluid dynamic (CFD) combustion simulations to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals. Essential Responsibilities - Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements - Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project - Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures - Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments - Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues - Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews - Ensure proper documentation of technical data is generated for the assigned projects and / or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures - Generate intelligent solid models in Unigraphics, manipulate existing models, and support design of concepts - Transform solid geometry part files from Unigraphics software to fluid volumes - Generate mesh appropriate to simulation following approved best practices - Set up applicable boundary conditions for both non-reacting and reacting analysis - Post process results to provide insight to design engineers on parameters of interest - Provide leadership across section in CFD - Work with existing experts in section and leverage knowledge across program Qualifications/Requirements: - Bachelors Degree of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science - Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Engineering position utilizing combustion CFD ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: - Ability and willingess to obtain a United States Government (USG) Security Clearance - This position requires access to controlled technology. To abide by Export Compliance regulations candidates must have either US Citizenship or US Permanent Resident Alien Status. Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.
